Anthem Career College Nashville Marks New Name 07/22/10
State and business VIPs gathered to celebrate the new Anthem Career College in Nashville.
Anthem Career College Nashville hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony July 19 to announce its new name.
ACC students, staff, and graduates were joined by prospective students and representatives from local businesses and Extern sites. A host of local and state VIPS turned up as well:
- Members from the Nashville and Donelson/Hermitage Chambers of Commerce
- Nancy Eisenbrandt, Chief Workforce Development Officer for the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce
- Representatives from the Tennessee Higher Education Commission
- Representatives from the state Department of Labor & Workforce Development
- Anne Landis-Williams, Executive Director, Tennessee Association of Independent Colleges and Schools
- State Senator Joe Haynes
- State Representative Ben West, Jr.
- Nashville Councilmember Phil Claiborne
- Steve Glover, District 4 School Board Member
More than 250 people listened to short speeches from Ms. Eisenbradt, Mr. Glover, Ms. Landis-Williams, Councilmember Claiborne, Rep. West, and Sen. Haynes.
Sen. Haynes was given the ribbon-cutting honors.
A reception followed the ribbon-cutting, with ACC’s Student of the Month cutting the cake. Guests toured the school as well. Each student session hosted its own cake-cutting ceremony as well.
“The success of our ribbon-cutting ceremony is a moment of pride for the Nashville campus and we were honored by the community support we received,” Campus President Brenda Nash said after the event.
